Important facts about JEE Mains 2025 through NTA Notification

The National Testing Agency has confirmed the date schedule for the JEE Main 2025 examination. It had been issued on October 28, 2024 and included essential dates, design, and information about all the applicant’s key expectations, which the applicants have to apply from the given portal- jeemain.nta.nic.in, and also has provided JEE Main exam to the candidates who have enrolled with two sessions of academic sessions 2025-26.

Key Dates for JEE Main 2025

The examination will come in two phases that will allow candidates the very opportunity to do their best:

  • Session 1: January 22 to January 31, 2025,
  • Session 2: April 2025 (dates to be determined)

The application deadline for the session 1 will be on November 22, 2024. The cutoff will be 9 PM; however, the fee needs to be paid by 11:50 PM. The candidates should apply way before time to avoid any last-minute rushes.

Detailed Examination Framework

The JEE Main 2025 will have two papers-the need varies with engineering and architect students.

  • Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech: Entrance exam for entrance into undergraduate engineering programmes and entrance exam for IIT for JEE Advanced.
  • Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): For students intent on pursuing architecture and planning courses in schools around the country.

Both the exams shall be conducted in 13 languages including English, Hindi along with other regional languages namely Assamese, Bengali, and Marathi along with many others. With this, NTA focuses on greater accessibility for individuals belonging to different linguistic domains of India.

Exam Timing and Mode of Conduct

Each exam day will have two shifts:-

  • Morning shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

A paper has multiple sections of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Questions in each section are MCQs and numerical value-type questions. One more thing that should be kept in mind is negative marking.

Essential Instructions for Applicants

The applicants are strictly required to follow the rules and guidelines set by NTA. There is only one application per session, and strict penalties, including disqualification, for multiple submissions. For now, candidates can register for Session 1 while a separate application window opens for Session 2 later in the year. When registering, candidates are encouraged to use their or their guardian’s personal contact details. NTA will communicate important information, including updates, through the registered email and phone number only.
